Dear Parents of Mr. Peinert’s 2014-15 Social Studies Class,
Internet safety has really become a concern in the classroom and I’m sure it has been in your home as well. School age students as you may already know are regulars on Facebook and the Myspace pages, which are not allowed to be accessed from our school. Internet safety is difficult enough to manage at home imagine what it is like in a school setting with cell phones and laptops. But I want to tackle this issue very early in the school year so we don’t find it to be a problem later on. Your students will be distributed the Baltimore City Schools acceptable uses plan within the next week please read over this carefully, any violation of the BCPSS Technology AUP may lead to the reprimand of your student. This should be reviewed together as a family and if there are any questions you can feel free you e-mail me those concerns. This school year your child not only will be learning Social Studies but also proper ways and uses of technology and most importantly the etiquette that goes along with it. I will post some links that i would like you as parents to review with your children. Many of the items listed in the post will be modeled throughout the school year so that your child knows the correct way of using technology.
CORRECT WAYS

I hope you are committed to the safety of your children and will help me start your children off to a safe and exciting school year that will be full of technology. Again if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
Yours in Education, Mr. Peinert
